The Vineyard

From 40-year-old vines rooted in steep, schist slopes that can only be farmed by hand, this cuvée comes from the heart of Collioure. These cool, maritime terroirs give the vines a natural balance, allowing the grapes to ripen fully without excess. Depending on the vintage, small contributions from neighboring plots may be included, always carefully chosen for harmony.

The Wine

Grenache Noir dominates the blend (over 80%), complemented by Syrah, Mourvèdre, and a touch of Carignan. In the cellar, the winemaking is gentle and restrained, with light punch-downs and delicate pump-overs to preserve the finesse of the fruit. Ageing takes place in tank to retain freshness and spontaneity.

Tasting Notes

Beneath its bright ruby robe, Petit Gus Rouge bursts with aromas of crushed strawberry, fresh cherry, floral notes, and a hint of spice. The palate is supple, juicy, and vibrant, carried by a subtle saline finish that speaks of the schist soils. An approachable yet characterful Collioure red—perfect now with grilled lamb, a Provençal vegetable tian, or a plate of Catalan tapas.
