The Vines

Soil : steep slopes of schist, cannot be mechanised. This cuvée comes from Domaine Augustin’s parcels and the old vines are planted following a high-density system and we can find several types of grapes in the same parcel. Depending on the vintage, there may have an external supply. Grapes variety : 90% Grenache, 5% Mourvèdre, 5% Carignan.

The Wine

Grapes harvested by hand. Grape-stomping (also know as “pigeage”) and pumping-over. Soft extraction.

Tasting

Nose : blackberry, raspberry aromas.
Mouth : fine and fresh, medium-bodied red wine, gourmand and summery.
Food pairing : Mediterranean food as grills and stuffed pepper.
Pleasant to taste in his youth.
